About the Art Department:
1. We have four, very experienced members of staff within the art department, each with different skill sets. We are friendly, hardworking, positive and passionate about our subject. We support each other, sharing ideas and resources, working in a highly effective and collaborative way.
2. We were recognised by Ofsted in May 2024 as an outstanding department.
3. Following the EDUQAS specification, we currently offer GCSE Art and Design at Key Stage 4 and Fine Art and Photography at Key Stage 5.
4. Our schemes of work are fast and encourage students to make rapid progress, each year building their skill repertoire.
5. We have a dedicated art technician who works closely with teaching staff to ensure the department runs smoothly and to provide the best possible experience for our students.
About You:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and dynamic teacher of Art. A broad awareness of a range of styles, techniques and Art history is essential. The ability to teach, or willingness to learn to teach some photography would be advantageous, but not essential. If you are passionate about your subject and want to really make a difference to the lives of young people, then St Peter’s could be the school for you. Both experienced and ECT applications are welcome.
