Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Facilities Manager to join our team based in Exeter. As a key member of the Facilities Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of essential services that contribute to the smooth running of our facilities and the well-being of all our staff and patients.
We are looking for someone who has the following:
* Experience in facilities management, with a strong understanding of cleaning, waste, pest control, and catering services.
* Proven track record in line management and team leadership.
* Strong knowledge of tendering processes and managing relationships with contractors and suppliers.
* Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* A proactive and solution-focused approach to facilities management.
Main duties of the job
* Coordinating Cleaning Services: Oversee the provision of high-quality cleaning services to ensure that all Trust facilities meet hygiene and infection control standards.
* Pest Control Management: Coordinate pest control services to maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and patients.
* Waste Management: Ensure the effective management of waste disposal, including hazardous and clinical waste, in compliance with relevant regulations and Trust policies.
* Catering Services: Supervise the catering services, ensuring that nutritional needs are met and standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
* Line Management: Manage and support a team of Facilities staff, providing leadership, training, and development to ensure high performance.
* Tendering Process: Manage the tendering process for contracts and services, ensuring value for money, compliance, and quality of service delivery.
* Contractor and Supplier Relationships: Lead relationships with external contractors and suppliers, ensuring service delivery meets Trust requirements and contractual agreements.
* Deputy Function: Provide support to the Head of Facilities in their absence, ensuring the continuation of high standards and service provision across all areas of facilities management.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent level of experience
* Advanced Food Hygiene certificate
* British Institute of Cleaning Science (BiCs)
Knowledge
* Knowledge of relevant National and Local Policies
* Knowledge of relevant National Initiatives PLACE, NSC, CQC
* Awareness and understanding the importance of Waste management, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, COSHH and National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, Waste Management HTM07-01, Hospital Food Standards and Fleet Management Legislation (e.g. Road Traffic Acts and health and safety regulations)
Experience
* Substantial proven experience of managing Facilities Services at senior level
* Experience of providing high quality effective services within resource limits
* Experience of managing a budget
* Providing supervision, effective leadership and managing staff
