Job summary
HMP Northumberland are looking for a Mental Health Nurse / Clinical Lead to provide mental health care to patients. This role will be responsible for assessment and caseload management of those referred into Mental health services within HMP Northumberland, working as part of a stepped care model. You will be supporting your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options and initiating supportive care plans, and providing evidence-based interventions alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.
This vacancy is open to Band 5 Registered Nurses with a minimum of 18 months post qualification experience and successful completion of preceptorship. This is a developmental post with progression to a Band 6 upon meeting the criteria within the Band 6 job description and competency framework specific to Health & Justice Services.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will work across urgent and planned services in order to develop knowledge, skills and experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well and an ability to work under pressure and with initiative. We are looking for clinicians who will thrive working in a busy environment amongst a wider well resourced team of multidisciplinary professionals, as well as alongside partner providers from a variety of internal and external services.

6. MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in AdultEducation (within agreed timescales)
7. Clinical Supervisor (within agreed timescales)
8. 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework
9. Qualified practitioner in. CBT, DBT, PSI, dual diagnosis etc. (within agreed timescale)
