We have an amazing opportunity to join our department as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Ageing & Complex Medicine. You will assist in supporting your colleagues in managing the department.

The post holder will provide St4+ level cover within our Ageing and Complex Medicine team, across the footprint of inpatient wards, acute frailty, trauma liaison, orthogeriatric and community settings. The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to older patients. Senior Clinical Fellows will be expected to provide leadership and support to junior staff on the wards.

* Colleagues will work in a facility whose importance stretches far beyond the boundaries of Salford. The Greater Manchester Trauma Centre is home to one of two Major Trauma Centres for Greater Manchester.
* If you have a keen interest in research, there are many opportunities open to you within the Major Trauma Centre. Our services based within the building have a strong research-ethos.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to deliver the following key tasks:
1. Daily multidisciplinary board round
2. To review frail older adults identified as requiring CGA under consultant supervision in Ageing and Complex Medicine.
3. To complete clinical tasks associated with this review.
4. To liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team both on the unit and with the wider multidisciplinary teams including primary care/intermediate care and multidisciplinary groups/care co-ordinators.
5. To take a proactive approach to discharge planning for frail older adults including discussion with families regarding appropriate transitions of care.
6. Participation in regular weekly quality improvement/clinical microsystems work focused on continual improvement of our services.
7. Participation in teaching medical students.

Essential
* Has full MRCP UK
* Has full GMC Registration
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Previous NHS experience working as a medic in the United Kingdom
* Broad range of experience in General Medicine.
* Experience of working at a senior level including supervision of junior colleagues
* Completion of foundation and internal medicine training
* Evidence of experience in geriatric medicine
Desirable
* Ability to work at middle grade level on an on call general medical rota
* Evidence of qualifications / CPD in geriatric medicine
