Location
Infleqtion has offices in the USA, United Kingdom, and Australia. This is a full-time position split between our Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre, Harwell. Our flexible working policy allows all full-time employees to work up to 2 days a week from home if work permits.
Position Summary
The Portfolio Technical Lead (PTL) plays a strategic role in determining, with other Infleqtion leaders, which technologies and prototypes transition from research to products. The role involves managing the Neutral Atom Quantum Computing technical team to deliver R&D outcomes and contribute to commercial solutions. Responsibilities include overseeing project portfolios, managing R&D efforts, leading technical personnel, and aligning technical capabilities with business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Project Supervision
* Oversee technical performance of neutral atom QC projects, ensuring cohesive capabilities aligned with company stakeholders.
* Set performance thresholds and communicate feasibility to stakeholders.
* Build relationships with funding agencies and transition partners to grow the R&D pipeline.
* Coordinate with Portfolio Managers for project success.
* Deliver technical reports, milestone updates, and design reviews.
* Implement safety requirements in laboratory settings.
* Identify contract opportunities aligned with the technical roadmap.
* Recommend technologies for product development and patent opportunities.
* Support proposal development and contract management.
* Assist in risk analysis and mitigation.
* Guide project leaders and manage key personnel careers.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as a primary technical contact for external relationships.
* Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
* Advise Infleqtion leadership on technical needs.
Requirements
Technical Knowledge
* PhD in AMO physics or related field.
* Experience with atom trapping, Rydberg physics, optical and control systems, vacuum technology, and design software.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience
* Multiple years in technical project leadership, including proposal, design, and transition of complex solutions.
* Experience with externally funded projects and hardware/software integration.
* Project management experience and safety practices knowledge.
