Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: This role is office based in Kilwaughter, Larne
Purpose:
We have exciting opportunities for technically strong Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations team. Working as part of our highly trained and experienced team, our Engineer will play an essential role to ensure our production plant operates daily, by conducting planned preventative maintenance and responding to break downs in a fast-paced manufacturing plant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Well-being policies / procedures to deliver a safety-first culture
* Bring root cause expertise to accurately fault find problems, delivering highly effective solutions that prevent re-occurring problems.
* Develop and report concise data driven metrics to inform priorities and action plans
* Undertake repairs, servicing and maintenance of a wide range of production plant and machinery to the highest standard and pre-determined specifications and relevant legislation.
* Develop, maintain and implement planned maintenance schedules and routines for all plant
* Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts.
* Comply with all company policy to include environmental/energy and procedures in both normal and emergency situations
* Manage breakdowns with urgency to minimise downtime, completed PM activities within agreed timelines.
* Ability to understand technical drawings
* Collaboration with all departments within the business to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the manufacturing process.
* To have the skills and ability to coach/mentor team members to improve overall team performance and capabilities.

Education
* HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
* Time served Mechanical background
Experience
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a manufacturing environment, or similar role.
* Proven experience working with Mechanical drive systems
* Proven experience working with Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
* Experience working with servicing, repairs and maintenance of plant machinery.
* Knowledge of current H&S legislation
* Root cause analysis & fault-finding experience
* Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, technical drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals.
