What's involved with this role: Interim Lawyer - Adult Social Care Reference no: Bolton 0009 5D3D / 1 Pay Rate: £20.76 per hour PAYE 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: BOLTON Will consider fully remote working in the interim Assist in the provision of legal services to the Council. Key Responsibilities: Ordinary Residence queries Funding Queries – CHC and general finance Deferred Payment Agreements S.117 responsibilities Adult Social Care Responsibilities under the Care Act 2014 Immigration and No Recourse to Public Funds Advice ASC Policy drafting and reviewing Inquest Work Any further duties as required by the Line Manager in accordance with the business needs of the Team. Qualifications: Qualified solicitor/Barrister with a current practising certificate Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of specialist legal area as set out in the JD Excellent knowledge and understanding of Mental Health Law including advice to AMHPs and associated court applications Knowledge and understanding of adult safeguarding Experience: Experience of legal practice Previous experience of providing advice and support under Care Act 2014 Experienced in ordinary residence issues and disputes between other local authorities. Experience working in a busy Adult Social Care Team completing the following: Court of Protection Work COPDOL11s Section 16 applications S.21A Challenges Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate strong and effective communication and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrate strong effective organisational skills and to manage and prioritise own workload producing and administering correspondence and documentation to a very high standard. Demonstrate concise and assertive communication skills and negotiation skills, both oral and written excellent drafting skills, including ability to communicate with people at all levels including management, officers, councillors, members of the public and court officers. Ability to develop good working relationships with people both inside and outside the council and to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
