The School - SEN Teaching Assistant
This SEN school is based in the leafy area of Shepperton in Surrey. The school supports learners aged between 2-19 who have additional needs (SEN). The school is committed to providing each and every one of the children and young people at the school with the very best opportunities to 'Make Every Day Count'. Everyone in their learning community will be supported to achieve, contribute, and live life to the full. They are very focused on identifying and supporting the individual needs of children and young people and preparing them for the next stages of their life in a happy, safe, and exciting learning environment.
The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant
1. To support the teacher in the classroom and in other learning environments/activities e.g. swimming pool, P.E. to enable children to make the most of their learning opportunities.
2. To supervise pupils during break and lunch time as appropriate to support teachers and Senior Teaching Assistant: encouraging pupils to be physically active and to play.
3. To contribute to the organisation of classroom resources to ensure effective classroom management.
4. To encourage independence at all times.
5. To undertake specific tasks with individuals or small groups of pupils.
6. To record pupils’ progress on appropriate recording charts.
