Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician Higher Level based at University Hospital Crosshouse on a 12 month, fixed-term or secondment basis.
What you will do:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced hospital technician to participate in the provision of pharmaceutical services in the Distribution at UHC. The role will provide higher level technical support to the pharmacy services within the hospital Distribution team
You will be responsible for the provision, co-ordination and development of training within Distribution supporting all Pharmacy staff and Pharmacy students. Key responsibilities may change in line with the needs of the service but will include, producing training timetables, supervising and training staff and working alongside the Senior Technical Team.
In addition, you will participate in supporting the provision of the department dispensary service undertaking higher level technician roles and responsibilities along with your extended role as an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You must have experience of working in hospital pharmacy as a qualified pharmacy technician, including dispensary, ward or clinical experience, and be registered in the UK. You will possess the qualification: SQA Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician and the PDA Assessment & Supply of individual patient’s medicines and the L&D9DI Assessor for SVQ Level 2 and Level 3 – Pharmacy Services.

Hours:
37 hours per week.
You will participate in the weekend, departmental and public holiday rotas. The pharmacy service is provided from 8am to 8pm in the CAU and the successful candidate will participate in this extended hours’ rota. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day.
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
