An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapists to join our Band 6 rotation scheme. The successful candidates will undergo nine-monthly rotations across the following areas based across Northwick Park Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, and Ealing Hospital.
Areas of Rotation
* Regional Hyper-acute Rehabilitation Unit (RHRU)
* Surgical intensive recovery unit (SIRU), Vascular, Amputee & General Surgery wards, Amputee outpatients
* Acute medical unit
* Medical HDU, including NIV, AAU, and medical respiratory wards with exposure to the outpatient respiratory clinic
* ICU and Surgical Respiratory wards
* Colorectal wards with an opportunity for prehabilitation clinic experience
The post will provide the opportunity to further develop your clinical skills (including extended scope skills of chest x-ray requesting, tracheostomy tube changes and decannulation, wound management, and prosthetic gait analysis) whilst contributing to progressive respiratory medicine, critical care, surgical, vascular, and outpatient services.
Please note that participation in on-call is expected and weekend working is undertaken across therapies at the Trust. Days off are allocated in the week following weekend working (1 in 5 weekends). Developmental positions will also be considered.
Main Duties of the Job
* To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating patients with complex surgical and/or respiratory disability, maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records.
* To take a proactive approach to facilitating patient discharge planning, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to influence timely and appropriate onward referrals.
* To be involved in the running of specialist amputee gym sessions for inpatients and outpatients.
* To engage in own continued professional development (CPD) and service development.
* To participate in the weekend working rota and emergency on-call service.

Central Middlesex is home to the Intestinal Rehabilitation Unit, elective GI surgeries, and a hub for elective orthopaedic surgery (which is covered by our MSK and Orthopaedic teams).
Ealing Hospital is a busy district general hospital serving London's third largest borough, where you will encounter a wide range of patients with diverse conditions. Additionally, patients are often repatriated from major trauma centres following acute neurological and spinal cord injuries as well as progressive neurological disorders.

Essential
* Relevant Degree with Professional Registration.
* Attendance at recent post-graduate courses relevant to the clinical rotations.
* Minimum of 15 months previous experience as a band 5/junior physiotherapist.
* Practical experience working in a broad range of specialist areas such as orthopaedics, in-patient elderly care, neurology, respiratory, and musculoskeletal.
Desirable
* Evidence of Leadership Courses/Training.
* NHS experience.
* Supervision of students or physiotherapy assistants.
* Ability to organise, prioritise, and delegate.
