The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team and drive the generation of sales leads by engaging with employers at all levels, from SMEs to corporate and public sector organisations. In this role, you will negotiate and secure sales opportunities that result in the delivery of tailored training solutions, helping to achieve both your individual sales targets and the College’s overall income goals. You will also provide valuable business support and advice to new and existing employers, working closely with departments such as Curriculum, Marketing, and Student Recruitment to develop and promote training programmes and other commercial offerings.
Your responsibilities will include generating sales leads through proactive outreach, including telemarketing, email campaigns, employer visits, and attending networking events. You will manage a portfolio of clients, building strong, long-lasting relationships that lead to repeat business and new opportunities. Promoting the College’s diverse range of courses, training programmes, and services to key customers will be a key focus, as well as collaborating across the College to ensure the successful delivery of training initiatives that meet employer needs and support learner outcomes.
You will also engage with external partners, forums, and networking groups to expand the College’s reach and identify new opportunities for growth. Using labour market insights and data, you will help inform curriculum development and generate new income streams. Accurately maintaining client records, tracking your sales activities, and reporting on performance will be essential to ensure effective business development. Representing the College at both internal and external events, you will also coordinate and lead business development projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and requirements. Finally, you will prepare and deliver reports, sales presentations, and promotional activities, contributing to the ongoing success and expansion of the College’s business development efforts.

About you
We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented individual who thrives in a sales-driven environment. You should be confident in engaging with employers across various sectors, from SMEs to large organisations, and have strong negotiation skills to secure business opportunities. Your ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, along with your excellent communication and networking abilities, will be key to your success.
You’ll need to be highly organised, able to manage your own caseload of clients, and capable of meeting targets within set timescales. A good understanding of the labour market and how to use data to identify new business opportunities is essential. You should also be comfortable using CRM systems to track client activity and progress, while being proactive in reporting on your performance and outcomes. A collaborative approach is important, as you’ll work closely with various departments to promote the College’s training solutions and ensure their success. Most importantly, you should be driven, adaptable, and committed to supporting the College’s growth and success.
Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
Required
· Level 3 qualification or relevant industry experience
· GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)
· At least 2 years work experience in an environment where there is direct contact with employers in a sales environment
· Experience in sales and telemarketing activity
Preferred
· IAG qualification
· Business studies, sales, customer care or related qualification
