Business Unit: Commercial - Unsecured Lending
Salary range: £58,400 - £87,600 per annum DOE + red hot benefits

Our Team
We have an exciting opportunity in the Unsecured Lending team to lead a talented group of analytical colleagues in the design and delivery of best in market and innovative customer engagement strategies in combination with protecting and delivering strong customer outcomes. The role is responsible for ensuring business performance is understood, explained and influenced in an integrated manner, and for the realisation of value to Virgin Money within our purpose.
What you’ll be doing
* Optimisation - Existing customer credit criteria including all credit extension, portfolio authorisation, re-issue and closure strategies for the credit card portfolio. Management of these strategies to optimise good customer engagement in core balance transfer products as well as new growth areas (eg retail) while remaining within credit and conduct risk appetite.
* Innovation - Continued optimisation and identification of new credit strategies to stay ahead of the competition and respond to ever changing regulatory landscape, including use of new data such as Experian’s ADE/Ascend to inform strategy optimisation and design.
* Collaboration - with Analytics, Commercial and Loyalty & Engagement to ensure cross-product strategies optimise customer and bank outcomes. Influence Credit Risk in development of Card origination lending strategy, including line assignment and affordability.
* Insights – into the unsecured lending business, combining low level portfolio performance insight with a macro view of external factors (including competitor activity). Responsible for regular strategy performance reviews, including presenting performance at senior forums, insight Commercial and broader as required.
* Customer – contribution to Consumer Duty scorecards across unsecured lending, driving positive outcomes through quantitative identification of issues and leading action across the business to rectify through established routines, and up to Board level. Action may include developing proposals and supporting approval and implementation of strategy changes.
* Financial Loss - evaluation of commercial and credit performance across unsecured lending, leveraging analytics to identify risks and opportunities, working with key stakeholders across the business.
* Transformation - Adopting a continuous improvement team mindset, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency of processes and strategies through the adoption of new technologies, data, segmentation and advanced modelling.
We need you to have
* A strong analytical mind, a self-starter and a willingness to learn and develop. You’ll need excellent numerical skills, be able to demonstrate the ability to clearly present the facts, and be comfortable interacting at all levels within the business.
* A comprehensive understanding of the Credit Card P&L with the ability to consider end to end implications of strategy design.
* Knowledge of risk appetite in combination with regulatory and policy guidelines for the management of Unsecured Lending.
* Experience of building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, with experience of managing challenge and conflict.
* Partners with key stakeholders and business partners and builds relationships to obtain engagement and support in delivery of plans.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience of being able to articulate complex concepts into distilled and digestible information.
* Microsoft Excel and Office skills; strong capability is essential.
* Previous exposure to coding (SAS, SQL).

* Experience managing Unsecured Credit Risk & or Recovery strategies.
* If your degree is from a Mathematical, Economic, or Science discipline that would be great. However, if your degree is in something totally different, but you feel this is an area in which you excel, don’t let that stop you applying.

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting.
