Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust delivers maternity care to over 6000 women and families per year and we are proud of our excellent facilities which offer women real choice in place of birth. Our maternity services offer 2 Midwifery Led Birth Centres in Maidstone and Crowborough which provide care to women with low risk pregnancies, whilst the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury offers both midwifery and obstetric care for women whose pregnancies are both low and high risk. We achieve 1:1 care for all women choosing to birth with us, in every birth setting - Home Birth, Midwifery Led and Obstetric Led Departments. We have been nominated several times for RCM awards and are internationally recognised for our research and practises into ‘Kangaroo Care’, for the promotion of well-being in transitional care babies. We have a vibrant workforce, and encourage the sharing of ideas and innovation from staff, to contribute to the evolution of our services, and shaping our strategy. We are seeking both Part time and Full Time Band 2 Maternity Support workers to join our teams in our Maternity inpatient Services at Tunbridge wells Hospital. We are also delighted to offer Maternity Support Worker Apprenticeships to those interested who have minimal Healthcare experience or limited Qualifications. The Band 2 Maternity support worker role will include being on rotation within the Antenatal, Postnatal and Delivery Suite Units to assist the midwifery staff in the safe delivery of Maternity care and providing new parents with the skills and support required to enable them to care for their babies. There are a number of vacancies available, and our ambition is that following completion of your Apprenticeship as a Band 2 maternity support worker you will be comfortable and competent to work in any area of our Maternity services. Our maternity Services support 7 day a week, 24hr care, 365 days per year so there is an expectation that you will cover a combination of both week day, nights and weekend shifts, including Bank and Public Holidays. Please note that this role may often attract a high level of applications. Please note this role may close earlier than the original closing date so please ensure you submit your application as soon as possible.
