Who Will You Be Supporting?
Join a vibrant team where you'll support four incredible young men aged 20-28 who live with learning disabilities, autism, and some mental health needs. These gentlemen are full of life and enjoy a wide range of activities that keep them engaged and active:
- Independent & Capable: Most of the support needed is minimal, with one individual requiring a bit of assistance with personal care, such as shaving, washing, and drying.
- Active Lifestyle: From bowling and trampolining to long walks and sports, these gentlemen love staying active. Whether it's playing music at rock school or enjoying a meal out, every day is filled with fun.
- Group & Solo Activities: They enjoy both individual activities and spending time together as a group, fostering camaraderie and support.
- Wheelchair Assistance: One gentleman uses a wheelchair for longer distances but prefers a walker most of the time.
These young men are lively and, at times, their anxiety can lead to behaviors of distress. They respond well to a calm, consistent, and understanding approach. If you're patient, calm, and capable of maintaining a positive environment, you'll fit right in.
