Full Job Description
Somerset Early Scans is an award-winning private ultrasound clinic with two locations: Paulton, near Bath, and Bridgwater, Somerset. The company is led by Doctors, with industry-leading clinical governance and rated "Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission.
We are currently seeking an experienced Sonographer to work on a part-time, permanent basis in our Paulton Clinic BS39 7SF.
The clinic is easily commutable from Bath, Bristol, and the North Somerset area and is located in a quiet area with easy free parking outside.
The individual will eventually work independently with an assistant, after an initial period of training and supervision. There is ongoing support from our caring and experienced team.
The hours are flexible and can be suited to the correct candidate. We ideally would like a minimum of 4 hours a week. If you are available to work some weekend or evening shifts, but not necessarily every week, then we'd also like to hear from you.
The scans performed will include early pregnancy and gynaecology scans, gender and 4D scans, as well as NIPT blood tests. If your scope of practice covers some, but not all of our services, this may be accommodated.
Scan machine: we are using a Voluson S8T.

* Conducting a range of gynaecology and prenatal scans
* Producing ultrasound images and videos for 4D scans

* Handing over any urgent tasks, e.g., referrals, to the next-day clinician at the end of your shift
* Carrying out phlebotomy services for NIPT screening services (optional) and phone calls to clients to deliver normal results
* Working with an assistant
* Completing clinical audits (training can be given if not done before)
* Ensuring a high standard of patient care is maintained at all times
* Adhering to fetal ultrasound safety guidelines such as ALARA
* Going the extra mile for clients to ensure they have a good experience
* Participating in an evening meeting with the whole team once every 3 months, usually Wednesday evening 7.30-9pm via Microsoft Teams
* Annual appraisal including an observed scan session
* Maintaining meticulous attention to information security measures
* Working with a supportive Practice Manager and a personable wider clinical team including a GP, Consultant Obstetrician, and EPAC nurses.
