The Role
The Retail Technology Manager will work as part of the Retail Technology Team to execute Pret’s Shop based Technology strategy. Working alongside Pret’s strategic service, solutions and operations providers to deliver support and ensure Pret is constantly operational on its relevant shop solutions. This is a hands-on project management and support role focused on assisting Pret to support, deliver and maintain its technology investments and to ensure Pret is using all available functionality within the portfolio of retail technology products.
The Retail Technology Manager will assist in defining technology and engineering principles to aid our vendors and technical teams to stay aligned with Pret’s overall direction. Participating and inputting into Pret’s technology governance process, the role will participate in decisions made around support, maintenance, deployment and development of Pret’s retail technology portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Technology Manager (Back of House), the role will be responsible for the design and engineering principles associated with the delivery and operational health of Pret’s front of house retail technology including the ePOS, payment and connected front of house landscape or back of house and shop management solutions as required. The role will also be responsible for ensuring support is delivered to resolve outstanding support tickets that have been escalated from the IT Service Desk as and when required.
In addition to the broad technology leadership, this role serves as a part of Pret’s design authority on front of house retail technology.
This role is key in supporting Pret’s wider transformation programme, inputting heavily into customer facing solution development to ensure that ePOS, payment, discount, and loyalty schemes at Pret operate seamlessly across physical and digital channels.
Responsibilities
* Supports Pret teams and vendors in delivering change in line with Pret’s overall technology strategy.
* Develops strong relationships and collaborative ways of working at all levels across internal and external stakeholders.
* Defines solutions that focus on compliance, customer convenience and commercial advantage for Pret.
* Continual and specific focus on emerging front of house retail technology – across physical and digital channels in the UK and internationally.
* Supports, tests, and implements retail technology as required to achieve Pret’s technology strategy and operational needs.
Skills and experience
* An expert payments professional, with proven experience creating payment and loyalty mechanics, ideally in a similar multi-site business.
* Experience supporting EPOS and digital commerce implementations, loyalty and discount schemes and the underlying data, integration and technologies.
* A strong ePOS or Back Of House specialist with experience in typical restaurant and QSR systems including but not limited to Oracle Symphony, Netsuite ERP, Inventory ordering and management platforms.
* Passionate about staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning new technologies.
* A sought out, innovative technician sought out for the ability to solve problems and design new solutions.
* Experience in executing technology strategies, testing products and supporting retail technology eco-systems.
* An excellent communicator with good spoken and written English language skills.
* Exposure to both ITSM and agile ways of working.

The salary range for this role is £75,000 - £90,000 per year.
