This position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact at the cutting edge of cancer care, focusing on cellular therapies within the renowned Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC). About the Role
This post is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist looking to specialise or advance in cancer care. You’ll:
1. Play a key role in the pharmaceutical delivery of CAR-T cell therapy, autologous stem cell transplants, and other advanced therapies (ATMPs) for patients.
2. Be part of a rotational Band 7 program that provides a breadth of training and experience across cancer services.
3. Collaborate closely with a highly supportive haematology pharmacy team, committed to innovation and the development of cancer services.
4. Engage with an exciting pipeline of new treatments and participate in clinical trials, helping to shape the future of cancer care.
5. Benefit from opportunities for service improvement, independent prescribing training, and other personal and professional development initiatives.
Why Join Us?
The ECC is a recognised centre of excellence in cancer care, offering a dynamic working environment that prioritizes innovation, teamwork, and patient outcomes. You’ll have the chance to work on:
1. Introduction of new medicines including CAR-T.
2. Service development projects aimed at improving patient care and modernising service delivery.
3. A wide variety of clinical experiences, supported by robust training and development opportunities.
This is an ideal progression opportunity for a rotational pharmacist, or a specialist pharmacist looking to broaden their clinical portfolio and gain hands-on experience with some of the most advanced treatments available in cancer care.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
1. A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration.
2. Completion of or have equivalent competence mapped to the RPS post-registration foundation pharmacist curriculum.
3. A commitment to improving patient care through pro-active, evidence-based pharmaceutical services.
4. Experience in influencing prescribing practices and working in a patient-focused environment.
5. Cancer experience is desirable but not essential—training and support will be provided.
