A school in Ellesmere Port is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join its team. Key Responsibilities:
* Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational activities and interventions.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, addressing their individual learning and emotional needs.
* Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and participation.
* Monitor student progress, recording observations and providing feedback to teachers and staff.
* Support classroom behaviour management, using de-escalation techniques and promoting positive interactions.
* Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to support students’ holistic development.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
* Experience working with secondary-aged students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students with complex needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous but not essential.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with students, serving as a positive role model and guiding them towards academic and personal success. By fostering a supportive and structured environment, the Teaching Assistant will play a key role in helping students overcome challenges and engage with their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
