As a Junior Finance Analyst, you are the key financial and commercial support to Senior Operational leaders, helping them set the overall business strategy, drive contract profitability, and ensure operational delivery. You will work closely with Operational & Commercial leaders to ensure that bids, tenders, spending, and investment decisions are made with financial rigor. You will agree on financial targets, measure financial performance, and collaborate with operational teams to implement actions that drive improved performance. This is a hybrid role, working 2 days per week from our office in Middlewich.
What you will do:
1. Receive technical on-the-job training to understand accounting fundamentals in a commercial and group finance environment.
2. Work with departments such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Commercial Finance.
3. Assist in the preparation of month-end management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
4. Support business requests, audit work, KPIs, and other routine finance tasks.
5. Provide commercial analysis relevant to business needs, including data consolidation, trend analysis, and reconciliations.
About you:
1. Experience is flexible; the role is ideal for someone new to finance with an interest in the field or with some existing experience (i.e., graduates/school leavers).
2. Genuinely motivated and driven to develop within Finance and Accounting with an aim to study towards a professional qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
3. Able to absorb feedback and willing to continually develop.
4. An individual who demonstrates a desire to grow and develop with the business.
5. Computer literate with good numeracy skills.
6. Able to meet deadlines.
7. A self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment.
