Purpose of the role:
LB Group is recruiting for an Audit Senior to come and join our Ipswich or Colchester office where we work to deliver a broad range of audit services to a diverse range of business clients. This opportunity would suit an individual who is looking to progress their career with the ideal candidate fully qualified (ACA/ACCA).
Accountabilities:
The Audit Senior role will collaborate closely with other Managers and Directors across the Group, responsibilities will include:
1. Planning, execution, and completion of audits reporting to managers and partners.
2. Preparation of accounts, reports and other assignments as required.
3. Co-ordinate planning with clients, including consulting with relevant departments within the firm.
4. Leading on-site audit teams and completing jobs with minimal supervision, to deadlines and within budget.
5. Business development including promoting the firm and its services to the existing client base and prospects.
6. Review of work of juniors offering guidance and support.
7. Develop strong client relationships with regular attendance at client meetings.
8. Consult with financial institutions such as Banks, Factoring Companies, etc.
9. Ensure quality of work and all practice procedures conform with regulations and LB protocols and methodology.
10. Attend external events and represent the business in a professional manner.
Skills/Qualifications:
Key characteristics include strong diligence, problem solving and communication skills, a professional approach to clients and colleagues and a firm commitment to providing top quality client service. You will have experience in:
1. Recent experience in Audit and Assurance within an accountancy practice.
2. Experience of leading external audit assignments from planning to completion stages under International Standards on Auditing.
3. Experience of preparing accounts in accordance with UK GAAP.
4. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
5. Effective communication skills with senior staff and clients.
6. Confident user of Microsoft Office suite – Intermediate/Advanced user of Word and Excel.
7. Sound knowledge of key risks applicable to specific audits and aware of own limitations and when to ask for assistance.
8. Excellent organisational and time management.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
