What are we looking for?
You will primarily work on supporting Automation projects in designing, developing, and commissioning automation systems and hardware. In addition, you will provide customer support for automated system solutions.
We are looking for an engineer to join the team who will work under the direction of senior engineers and engineering manager. You must be able to demonstrate good organisation skills and time keeping, along with attention to detail when producing the designs and development. Good communication and reporting is required when commissioning.
* Experience of working with Automation systems and Automation systems projects (Siemens or Rockwell) with a “hands-on” approach, developing code from scratch.
* Programming in all IEC61131 is a must, with special emphasis in Function Block (FBD), ladder logic (LAD) and structured text (ST/SCL).
* Experience in the use of electrical drawings.
* Knowledge of C, C++ or C# is beneficial.
* Knowledge of Python, JavaScript or any other computer programming language is an advantage.
* Familiarity with Database Systems or Structured Query Language is an advantage.
* Panel wiring experience is a benefit.
Key Responsibilities
* PLC software development and testing – Siemens (Step 7 Classic and TIA) and either Rockwell (RS Logix 5000 and/or Studio 5000) or Schneider Unity S.
* Capacity (prior knowledge is not required) to work with legacy control systems such Modicon, Siemens S5 or Schneider PL7.
* HMI application development and testing.
* Electrical and control system design.
* Electrical drawings using Eplan.
* Hardware specification & procurement.
* Hardware configuration.
* Trouble shooting, diagnosing and resolving warehouse and ports automation software related issues.
* Maintain and improve code quality, and processes through the development of and maintenance of features within the software products and working as part of a team within an Agile framework.
* Onsite commissioning and minor electrical panel modifications.
