Job summary
This role is to provide locum consultant services to maintain and improve the capacity of the department addressing a deficit to services due to internal job plan restructuring and increased demand. The post holder will be expected to be part of the Head and Neck Oncology MDT Team.
They will also be expected to provide training and supervision for junior medical staff and allied health professionals. Clinics and Theatre sessions are provided at East Grinstead as well as spoke sites.
Changes or additions to JP commitments such as MDTs in our region may be possible or required.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be based at the Queen Victoria Hospital. It is essential that the applicant should be fully trained in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery.
The postholder will also be expected to participate in the service assisting colleagues with the maxillofacial trauma. The Consultants in the department have continued to develop subspecialist interests and make cross referrals to each other where appropriate and the postholder will be expected to demonstrate skills that would complement and expand the existing skill mix in Head and Neck Oncology.
