We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner based at our Heywood facility. Shift Available: can be discussed upon interview. Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00 hours Salary: Competitive starting salary. The role In this role you will: Work as part of a team to Plan and co-ordinate routes from our 13 UK sites – using our in-house planning system. Deal with customers’ orders – from percentage load-fill, pallet count and building them into an efficient plan whilst minimising empty running and maximise profitability whilst meeting agreed KPI targets. Add loads to Warehouse Loading Diary Work alongside store to ensure we maintain a manageable diary. Work closely with our customer services department to ensure customers needs are met. Select and present subcontract lanes to Sub Contraction team. Book and plan subcontractors and negotiate rates. Manage and understand Working Time Directive drivers’ hours and comply with all transport legislation. Understand vehicle earnings and revenue and explain efficiencies to management and supervisors. Who we're looking for: Experience within a transport /traffic role. Good geographical knowledge. Excellent administration skills, great eye for attention to detail. Knowledge of drivers hours, Tachograph and WTD Legislation Ability to work well in a pressurised department. Strong organisational skills. An understanding of warehousing operations and understanding the interface with transport. Commercial understanding. What's in it for me?
