This is an external vacancy and is not employment with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
A young lady aged 21 requires a personal assistant to support her around the community with her social skills, attending groups, shopping, and supporting her in new situations.
The young lady has mild autism and anxiety; therefore, she needs encouragement to communicate and become comfortable with other people and her surroundings. She has been relatively isolated since leaving education, which has increased her anxiety and worries with trying new things and going places independently and socially.
The young lady hopes to have a good connection with the right candidate who can bring fun and humor while also understanding her needs. The candidate should be proactive in finding activities and places to encourage sociability and increase her confidence while also having fun.
You should be friendly, humorous, trustworthy, and capable of building a good relationship to help open up her world and think about future goals and the development of life skills.
She attends a craft club once a week and may be interested in doing some volunteering work with support. She also has a keen interest in animals.
Hours can be discussed as it is much about the development of the relationship and chosen activities. Use of a car is essential.
