Start Date: October 2024 or as soon as possible Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Wrap-Around Play Worker to join our team supporting children at our After School Club (there is also the opportunity of a more senior post to lead the team for a suitably qualified candidate. This would come with a pay enhancement). After-School club operates from 3.30 pm through to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday during school term time. This role involves providing a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for Nursery and primary school pupils during wrap-around care sessions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, creating fun activities and games, and contributing to the overall well-being and development of young learners. The main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The supervision of children to enhance the development of children's learning and social integration Plan and organise age-appropriate and engaging activities for children Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages social interaction, creativity, and physical activity. Help with setting up, clearing away and with the preparation of food. Liaising/communicating with parents and teachers The successful candidate will need to be highly professional and reliable and have desire and experience of working with children aged 3 to 11 years. A relevant Childcare or playworker qualification would be desirable. There would also be the option to undertake this training. The candidate needs to be enthusiastic, honest, reliable, hardworking and most importantly willing to have fun with an organised structure and enjoy working with children. The post will be for a minimum of 15 hours per week during school term time (3.00 pm – 6.00 pm Monday to Friday). There is also the option to work from 7.00 am – 9.00 am (7.30am) within the Breakfast Club. This would increase the permanent hours for this post to 25 hours. There is the option to work additional hours within our Nursery provisions on site when required.
