In partnership with the category teams, support the formulation of a competitive and commercial pricing strategy to drive growth and maintain customer perception whilst protecting margin. Use robust data and external insight to support key stakeholders decision making reacting to ‘in the moment’ market changing conditions and competitor activity.

Responsibilities
1. Partners with and builds strong working relationships with Trading and Category teams/stakeholders, helping to formulate the pricing strategy and meeting regularly to manage performance to the agreed strategy
2. Gathers compelling insight to engage Trading and Category teams, preparing and presenting in a compelling way to demonstrate and illustrate key opportunities influencing commercial decision making
3. Provides support and recommendations to category managers in protecting price position and margin – based on external and internal insight gathered
4. Review the performance of key pricing decisions – share insight and recommendations with key stakeholders to support learnings for future strategic decisions
5. Support and develop pricing confidence within the category Trading teams – help to formulate and deliver the Screwfix pricing strategy through the creation of pricing rules in the Price Manager system
6. Supports the category with training in using pricing tools that optimise pricing Price Matching system and Price Manager software
7. Support projects and ad-hoc work with pricing analysis and insight –provide input and recommendations to inform decision making
8. Review the outcome of specific projects and or proposals – provide a compelling story and or narrative to support decision making
9. Validate price benchmarking including calculation and tracking of the price indices
10. Actively review competitor activity, determining key opportunities for us to maintain a competitive edge where this is critical – partnering and collaborating with category teams to support agile decision making
11. Collaborates and supports the wider pricing team, in order to deliver a robust and commercially driven service for Screwfix
12. Explores opportunities for continuous improvement for the pricing processes and delivery – provide recommendations to Senior Pricing Manager and support any change management processes
Qualifications
13. Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle large sets of data
14. Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn how to use the price matching system · Commercially innovative. Looks beyond the obvious
15. Natural networker and collaborator – confident in work with senior management/directors
16. Able to come up with sensible suggestions and understands the impact of the recommendations (financially and practically)
17. Ability to present findings and present insight in a structured manner
18. Drivers of price perception
19. Financial reporting and clear understanding of make-up of net margin
