Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a challenging and rewarding role based in Kirklees, offering a competitive rate of £21.98 per hour. This position focuses on delivering high standards in cost management, procurement, and compliance across various complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Satisfaction: Proactively gather and incorporate customer feedback to enhance service delivery. Address and resolve customer complaints efficiently.
2. Professional Standards & Team Competency: Uphold high standards of professionalism and ensure team members maintain competencies in line with relevant professional body standards. Follow the service’s quality management procedures to deliver projects consistently.
3. Pre-Contract Services: Manage pre-contract services for complex projects, producing detailed cost estimates during early design stages, and ensuring accurate measurements align with the New Rule of Measurement. Ensure compliance with EU procurement and public procurement rules and utilise suitable contract forms, insurance, warranties, and bonds.
4. Contract Administration: Prepare contract documents, assess contractor payments, and support the project manager in evaluating contractor claims. Handle post-contract services, including interim valuations, cost reporting, and financial control to ensure projects meet specifications.
5. Final Accounts & Specialist Subcontractor Management: Prepare and agree on final accounts, including verification of specialist subcontractor accounts.
6. Framework & Commercial Agreements: Set up construction partnering frameworks, target price frameworks, open-book cost mechanisms, and negotiate commercial agreements when necessary.
7. Compliance & Environmental Standards: Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements, codes of practice, and regulations under the CDM. Promote environmental sustainability by continuously improving pollution control and environmental performance.
8. Inclusive Service Delivery: Ensure services are accessible to all community sectors and address individual and institutional barriers to promote equality for both employees and customers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Strong experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, particularly with complex projects.
2. Proficient in cost estimation, contract administration, and financial control within construction.
3. Knowledge of EU procurement standards and familiarity with public procurement processes.
4. Commitment to high standards in customer service and environmental sustainability.
5. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
