About The Role
* A key member of the health features team your role will be to update, commission, edit health guides and ensuring they are authoritative, engaging, accurate and optimised for search
* This is a junior commissioning role but you will need to have a strong understanding of search optimisation and how to grow the Telegraph’s audience by using it effectively.
* You will need to be confident in digital publishing and able to edit and publish within the CMS
* A digital native your role will be to publish smart digital features and guides, assisting in the commissioning of eye-catching lead assets, graphics and video that set your stories apart on the app and on the website.
* You’ll also liaise with designers/picture editors/visual storytelling and social departments to ensure that all content is produced to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Updating evergreen content
* Commissioning evergreen content
* Writing clear briefs for every piece of content for both writers and visual editors
* Work closely with the SEO team to prioritise work flow and the stories that are ranking for search
* Editing evergreen copy to the highest possible standard
* Coming up with new and original ideas for evergreen features
* Forging strong relationships with new and existing writers.
* Attend conferences and meetings with editors, and writers pitch and discuss ideas.
Key Skills
* Experience commissioning strong SEO focused utility features
* Excellent understanding of SEO
* A background in digital publishing and CMS is extremely important
* Ability to work across a wide range of content and making sure it’s delivered on time and to an excellent standard
* Commissioning feature writers with detailed digital-friendly briefs
* An understanding of analytics tools and how to use them when commissioning and briefing stories
* Ability to respond quickly and accurately to create premium quality journalism
