Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor to join our QSSHE team in Norwich. This role plays a critical part in ensuring business compliance with relevant statutory provisions, codes, and standards.
As HSE Advisor, you will work closely with our Assurance Manager to coordinate and undertake internal auditing and monitoring activities. This includes ensuring that our processes and procedures align with external stakeholders and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Assurance Manager in developing and delivering the PUK-SNS Assurance Programme, ensuring compliance with SEMS and reducing risks to ALARP.
* Coordinate risk-based assurance, including compliance with legal and other requirements. Monitor progress and support business leaders to deliver their lower-tier assurance plans.
* Support the maintenance of auditing tools to collect, analyze, and review performance. Communicate this process effectively to sites.
* Engage with site management to provide audit and self-verification findings, identifying non-compliance and risk.
* Review leading and lagging metrics and insights from internal and external sources to ensure the assurance programme is relevant and fit for purpose.
* Undertake assurance activities across all sites to establish adherence to company requirements and regulatory standards.
* Support improvements in the implementation of the Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS). Maintain registers of standards and legislation, assessing compliance status and initiating improvement programmes.
* Support Asset Integrity Management (AIMS) reviews to ensure performance standards comply with regulatory and industry standards.
* Provide support to other QSSHE Team members during peaks of heightened activity, including site risk assessment processes, HIRA and HAZID workshops, and incident investigations.
Requirements
* NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
* 5+ years' experience in a high-hazard industry, ideally with onshore or offshore Oil & Gas experience.
* Understanding of offshore legislation (desirable). QMS ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification (or equivalent) and Root Cause Analysis Specialist (desirable).
* Strong proficiency in writing and editing reports, with the ability to produce work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to interact with senior management to present and negotiate on QSSHE issues.
* Drive and passion to champion Health & Safety for the business, influencing management on key topics.
* Excellent communication skills, able to present articulately to various forums and through various mediums.
* Able to produce work to a high standard within agreed deadlines.
* Able to develop and sustain excellent working relationships both internally and externally.
