Role & Responsibilities of the Managing Director: Oversee all aspects of company strategy, set strategic goals and be responsible for the flow of operations information to the business owner and SMT. Part of the SMT - deputising for, and progress reporting to, the business owner. Be able to step up to run the business in the absence of the business owner. Relationship management and continued cultivation, including being able to converse with clients at all levels including technical. Leading the charge in delivering, managing, and overseeing all client agreements, services, and budgets to ensure seamless execution and success. Take charge of ensuring the highest quality and on-time delivery of all operational outputs, driving excellence and efficiency across the board. Drive operational excellence across the entire supply chain, pushing performance and championing a culture of safety for both employees and customers at every step. Fully accountable for leading and inspiring all teams that shape the manufacturing and customer journey, driving seamless collaboration and exceptional outcomes at every touchpoint. Actively engage and build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and alignment to drive strategic success and long-term partnerships. Complete essential administrative functions that support the seamless execution of your strategic initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency and business success. About You as the Managing Director: Experience in a sheet metal engineering and/or fabrication industry is essential. Dynamic leadership approach, inspiring and empowering your teams while shaping a culture of development, collaboration, and performance excellence. Proven experience managing people who have their own direct reports. Able to wear multiple hats and not only understand the running of an SME but also be able to step up to lead all aspects. Commercial expertise to steer the business strategy, making key decisions that drive growth and maximise profitability across the organisation. Strong financial knowledge in P&L management, financial forecasting, cost control, cash flow and risk management to drive sustainable business growth. Outstanding communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
