Children's Residential Care Practitioner
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Residential Children's Practitioner to work full time based in Norwich.
The salary for this permanent Residential Children's Practitioner job is up to £29,439 per annum.
Responsibilities:
1. To engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Ofsted quality standards and Children Homes Regulations.
2. To maintain good professional practice within the Home in accordance with Departmental Standards.
3. To help create a positive environment for each resident with regard to their safety, health, and education.
4. To form effective relationships with residents and their families to ensure that a caring environment is maintained and their emotional and physical needs are met.
5. Ensure that 'safe care' standards are met and opportunities for residents' development are maximised.
6. To undertake tasks and duties that can be met through appropriate training and delegation of clinical procedures in line with the 2005 Royal College of Nursing Guidelines.
7. To ensure that residents' views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate.
8. To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from qualified staff.
9. To undertake 'sleep-in' duties and night work as and when required.
10. To undertake a 'link worker' role with residents as required.
11. To participate in County groups as required.
12. To attend statutory reviews or planning meetings as required.
13. To ensure observance of and adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
14. To ensure that services are provided in accordance with the departmental standards, equal opportunities standards, and objectives of quality assurance.
15. To undertake other appropriate duties as may be required by the Director of Children's Services.
Requirements:
1. Desirable to have the Level 3 Children, Young Person and Family Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification or willingness to complete.
2. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. An understanding of the needs of looked after young people.
5. Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation, and statutory guidance.
6. An understanding of intervention strategies.
