Our client, a well established Marine Engineering company, is looking for MMA Welders to join their team throughout 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a long term refit project.
Suitable candidates must be NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship qualified and have a strong background in MMA welding. Previous marine/ship repair experience would be ideal but other heavy industries are also suitable.
Successful applicants will be required to spend a week in the test bay ahead of their allocated start date, passing the following tests to proceed onto the project.
Weld test details:
You will complete a 12mm butt weld in overhead position, if suitable you will then move onto a 25 mm plate in two stages - one side vertical, then the backside will be horizontal. The next plate will also be 25mm - firstly overhead, then the backside welded in the down hand position. All welds will be visually inspected, crack detected, UT and radiographed.
Full SC Clearance is required and once approved you will be taken through the clearance process before being issued a start date. Due to the level of clearance and the specific contract, candidates must be British.
If you already hold full SC clearance, we will ask you to obtain confirmation from the UKSV and a transfer will be arranged.
