Junior Oil Operator £46,000 plus bonus and benefits Location - London About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Oil Operator to join a Global Trading Company specializing in crude physical operations. Based in London, this position involves daily collaboration with Operations teams in London and Beijing, as well as building effective relationships with Traders in London. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and regularly update an organized filing system for crude physical operations, ensuring seamless task handover. Review purchase contracts and provide comments to the Contract Analyst. Counter sales contracts and manage negotiations with buyers. Oversee vessel nominations, supplier and buyer approvals, documentation instructions, and inspection company appointments. Apply insurance when required and coordinate invoices to finalize price calculations with suppliers. Liaise with teams including Trading, Shipping, Trade Finance, Cargo Control, and Demurrage Claims. Optimize trading desk costs, manage vessel berthing operations, and maximize profitability on profit and loss (P&L) statements. Monitor outstanding receivable claims related to cargoes and ensure timely follow-ups. Track vessel movements, identify quantity losses or quality issues, and assist Cargo Control in filing claims against suppliers or owners. Update traders on Bill of Lading (B/L) dates and quantities for all hedged cargoes. Input accurate and timely data into the trading system (ERP). Adhere to operational procedures and deadlines. Issue invoices for physical cargo-related costs, notify Treasury, and follow up on payments as required. Support additional tasks as assigned by the company based on business needs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. Eligibility to work in the UK. Skills Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of commodities is essential
