What is the opportunity?
Based in London you will support the Wealth Management Europe (WME) Credit team in the delivery of credit products and solutions with a focus on servicing UK Brewin Dolphin clients for new business. You will organise and co-ordinate all facets of Client Fulfilment for RBC Brewin Dolphin clients including ensuring that the process from referral to underwriting approval to drawdown and ongoing facility maintenance balances appropriate risk controls with overall client experience.
You will manage and complete tasks associated with preparing credit documentation and the review of externally drafted documentation related to credit transaction as well as supporting the conditions precedent process. This role will further include tasks associated with ensuring the credit risk monitoring and control activities are sufficient to safeguard the bank's lending activities and that credit exposures are duly monitored and managed in full in accordance with the bank's policies and relevant credit approval conditions. Provide support to client facing professionals in UK based RBC Brewin Dolphin offices in line with the Investment Banking Lending rollout for the Mass Affluent client base.
What will you do?
* Provide Leadership in both thought and action within the Client Fulfilment team.
* Manage and participate in the execution of all core Client Fulfilment control and monitoring responsibilities and contribute to Target Operating Model for new IT solution for issuing documentation for credit transactions in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Oversee and coordinate the tasks of more junior team members plus provide appropriate training, guidance, and coaching.
* Manage transactions from referral through to a successful completion and drawdown, ensuring that all necessary pre-completion steps and checks are taken, including liaising with other involved parties to assist with the timely delivery of all condition’s precedent requirements.
* Participate (alongside Law Group) in the review of risk associated with cross-jurisdictional structures, including liaison with external counsel in relation to obtaining legal opinions and the review of such opinions.
* Ensure that all necessary security perfection steps and post-completion requirements are accomplished within the required timeframe.
* Prepare amendment and supplemental documentation in relation to existing loans and prepare documentation to deal with default/reservation of rights scenarios.
* Oversee the appropriate and timely safe-keeping and storage of client documentation in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
* Establish new credit facilities in system, input and maintain credit information in book of record and related databases to ensure all facilities are correctly recorded.
* Focus on the Opus project to become an subject matter expert (SME) on the Avaloq system for new RBC Brewin Dolphin business processes.
* Responsible for collateral monitoring and credit limits to be monitored daily to ensure compliance within policy or exceptions granted. Shortfalls and / or excess to be escalated within the allocated time frame for UK & Channel Islands.
* Daily monitoring of overdrafts in accordance with the Overdraft Policy for UK and Channel Islands.
* Approve loan drawdowns and collateral release for UK & Channel Islands including funding, disbursement of funds and monitoring of repayments.
* Requirement to travel to UK regional RBC Brewin Dolphin offices.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
* Strong understanding of a control environment requirements and how to balance this with process efficiency.
* Credit administration and/or loan documentation experience within a private bank, including familiarity with facility documentation and collateral types.
* Detailed understanding of Regulated Mortgage Contracts, Lombard lending & Consumer Credit Act regulation.
* Experience working closely with Solicitors, Underwriters and Valuers.
* Understanding of legal documents and conveyancing.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent investigative skills, excellent problem solving skills.
* Ability to work independently under minimum supervision or guidance.
* Commercial and “client first” mindset with a sound knowledge of global financial markets
* A good team player with strong interpersonal & presentation skills
