Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Planner to work with Murphy Technical Services in Kentish Town.
Murphy Technical Services (MTS) is growing and sits within the multidisciplined Specialist Businesses Unit of Murphy. This includes building, ground engineering, electrical services, utility connections, design and engineering, alongside the specialisms of the wider business.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Planner
1. Assimilate information and summarise it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others.
2. Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
3. Prepare visual material in support of planned methods.
4. Prepare resource schedules for use at review.
5. Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
6. Contribute to coaching, supporting and formal training of others.
7. Provide a link to communicate planning community information between all parties.
8. Draw up a bid preparation programme and contribute to the tender queries database.
9. Define methods and establish competitive outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
10. Cooperate with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
11. Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items.
12. Contribute the required written submission material.
13. Attend the bid review meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material.
14. Attend the handover meeting to contribute a clear view of the work scope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material and accept further defined tasks.

1. Extensive experience of civil engineering contracting at Agent level (preferred).
2. NEC experience and ideally to have worked on a similar project.
3. Use of planning software (P6, ASTA, TILOS, QSRA) and computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Microsoft Project.
4. An understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
5. Full UK driving license and happy to travel when needed.
