About the role:
As our Aquatics Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our pools, ensuring a high-quality service for all users. You will manage a team of Swimming Instructors and Recreation Assistants (Lifeguards), oversee health & safety, and develop engaging aquatics programmes for all.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the pool and aquatics programs
* Lead, motivate, and support a team of Recreation Assistants (Lifeguards) and Swimming Instructors
* Ensure all health & safety regulations are met and maintained
* Develop engaging swimming lessons, fitness classes, and community events
About You:
We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic leader with a passion for swimming and water safety. You’ll bring:
* Experience in financial awareness and understanding, with previous budgetary control experience
* Experience working in a customer-facing environment, providing the highest levels of customer care
* A strong background in aquatics, lifeguarding, or swim instruction
* Leadership and management experience in a leisure or fitness setting
* Hold an ASA Old Level 1 or SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming or equivalent (or achieved within timescale)

Additional Information
Southwark Leisure Services operates across several sites, seven days a week from early morning to late night. There is a requirement for the post holder on occasions to work outside normal office hours and at different venues to meet the needs of the service.
* Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, 36 hours a week.
* Some weekend and evening work will be required to meet service needs.
