We require an experienced swimming coach to deliver classes to pupils of all ages and abilities at the Prep and Senior School. Swimming sessions will take place during term time on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3.45 pm - 6.00 pm and Wednesdays from 3.45 pm - 5.00 pm.
You must hold a Swim England Level 2 Qualification (SEQ) or equivalent and National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
The PE Department at Headington Rye Oxford
The Swimming Coach will be part of a large team of dedicated staff including the Director of Sport, PE teachers, Heads of Netball, Hockey and Tennis and visiting sport coaches in a wide range of disciplines.
Role Description
This is a term-time only role starting ASAP. The role entails planning and leading swimming lessons to pupils who take part in Swimming in their co-curricular hours. It encompasses teaching pupils from the Prep and Senior School with wide ranging abilities. This includes our competitive swimmers representing the School for fixtures and those who use the pool recreationally. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to support our pupils at swimming galas and school fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain registration for all clubs and pupil attendance.
* Manage the poolside safety of pupils and ensure our Swimming Pool operating procedures are followed.
* Plan, lead and deliver swimming lessons to Prep and Senior pupils.
* Create fun, engaging and progressive lessons for pupils of a wide range of abilities.
* Support the PE team with facilitating selections for Swimming fixtures.

Qualifications and Experience
* Swim England Level 2 qualification (SEQ) or equivalent.
* National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
* Extensive experience in teaching/coaching to prep and senior pupils.
* National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
* Experience of delivering high performance swimming in a club setting.

Type of Contract
Term-time only, starting ASAP.
Pension
Contributory membership of the School’s Support Staff Pension Scheme with a School contribution of up to 9.95 per cent upon successful completion of six months’ service.
Fee remission
In accordance with the School’s policy, which may be subject to change from time to time, up to 50% fee remission for girls attending Headington Rye Oxford and up to 20% fees remission for students attending Magdalen College School (under a reciprocal agreement) and subject to the terms of their policy. Fee remission is calculated on the number of weeks and hours worked and is pro rata for part time staff who work at least 50% of a normal working week.
£30.79 per hour (plus holiday pay).
