In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all work equipment complies with PUWER regulations and relevant health and safety standards, playing a key part in driving safety and compliance across our organisation.

What will you be doing as the Machine Safety & Controls Manager:
•Serve as the expert on PUWER regulations, ensuring all machine assets meet compliance requirements across all manufacturing sites, from the design of new machinery assets through to life cycle auditing of compliance and advancement of technology and changes to standards. •Lead and set the standards on machinery safety compliance ensuring the lowest possible risk on machinery. •Lead continuous improvement projects related to machine safety compliance, to ensure complete adherence to the PUWER regulations. •Conduct thorough inspections of work equipment, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions. Perform detailed risk assessments to ensure safety for all operators and maintenance personnel. •Work with engineering, maintenance teams, and external experts to optimise control systems and implement necessary safety modifications. •Lead the development and execution of our PUWER compliance program, fostering a proactive safety culture. •Partner with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless implementation and maintenance of safety protocols throughout the company. •Lead project teams from initial concept through design, implementation, and final commissioning, ensuring the highest safety and efficiency standards.
What do you need to qualify for the Machine Safety & Controls Manager:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fields. NEBOSH or other health and safety certifications are a plus. •Proven expertise in PUWER compliance, machinery safety, functional safety design, and machine control systems, including PLCs and safety-related controllers. •Strong leadership with a track record of continuous improvement and team development. •In-depth understanding of European and UK machinery regulations (CE & UKCA) and functional safety standards.
