We are seeking an experienced part-time (3 days per week), Band 8a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Research and Development team based at the Public Health Clinical Microbiology laboratory, Cambridge to participate in a Metagenomics project., Validation and evaluation of Respiratory Metagenomics using next generation sequencing technology
Delivery of Clinical Metagenomic Service
Analysis and interpretation of Quality Controls/results and communication to the wider team
To work flexibly in reflection of service needs
Ensure that all data and development activity is consistent with current governance regulations and data protection, legislation and keeping appropriate records.
You should have extensive laboratory experience in a Microbiology setting, particularly in molecular/Nanopore sequencing. You will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated with good organisational and practical skills supported by scientific knowledge. We are looking for someone with good interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work as a part of a team.
