As a Service & Calibration Engineer, you'll work in diverse environments across industries such as waste management, animal waste, and food processing. You'll be involved in repairs, service, installation, and calibration of industrial weighing equipment. With potential for career growth, this role offers flexibility and variety, ensuring no two days are the same. The role involves travel and on-call work one in every 13 weeks. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, enjoy problem-solving, and be able to manage their own workload while working independently and as part of a supportive team. Benefits: 20-25 days holiday per year increasing with service Pension: Standard pension contributions. Travel and Accommodation: £15 per night for Premier Inn stays, plus £25 dinner and £5 breakfast allowance (if before 6am). On-Call Allowance: £100 per week (1/13 rota), time and a half after 5pm, double time after midnight. Training: Initial training includes one week at the office (for Scotland-based employees). Key Responsibilities: Service & Maintenance: Repair, service, and install industrial weighing equipment at customer sites, including in the waste and food industries. Calibration: Calibrate equipment to ensure systems meet procedural requirements. Stock & Van Management: Keep your van clean and stocked with necessary equipment, ensuring it's ready for use. On-Call: Participate in a 1 in 13 on-call rotation with overtime pay for evening and weekend work. Customer Service: Ensure high-quality customer service by managing time effectively and keeping clients informed. Skills and Experience: Essential: Experience using a multimeter and a hands-on background in maintenance/servicing. Full driving licence (preferred clean) and based in a suitable location. Comfortable working in various environments, including hazardous and unpleasant conditions. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Willingness to work outdoors and travel across the specified regions. Ideal: GCSEs in English and Maths (C or above) or an NVQ Level 2 in electrical, IT, or mechanical skills. Experience in industries such as vending, weighing, or IT equipment. Electrical or mechanical knowledge would be beneficial, though not essential. Background in waste removal is an advantage.
