Staffordshire St CIC is a newly established independent community interest company dedicated to supporting arts and cultural events in South London. Our project encompasses an event space and artist studios, designed to provide opportunities for individuals to develop their work, foster educational initiatives, and promote collaborative exchanges.
This senior-level position holds managerial oversight and is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of Staffordshire St. The role demands a commitment to maintaining professionalism, cost-effectiveness, and maximum efficiency across all aspects of our organisation.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies for day-to-day operations, supervising and supporting staff, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements as needed. The position will also focus on diversifying and stabilising income streams by managing funding applications, attracting and overseeing private hires, establishing patron schemes, and fostering corporate partnerships.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new project space as it grows and defines its identity within the arts and cultural sector.
Job Requirements
1. Coordinate and manage the smooth day-to-day running of operational, financial, and administrative tasks and requirements.
2. Collaborate with the Directors, Programme Steering Group, and core team to foster a professional and efficient environment.
3. Develop and implement operational policies and governance structures to support organisational growth.
4. Initiate and attend meetings as needed, ensuring task management systems are kept up to date.
5. Line manage and oversee the workflows of the Public Programme Producer, Programme Administrator, and Social Media, PR, and Marketing Assistant to ensure efficiency, reporting progress to the Directors.
6. Supervise event staff, front-of-house personnel, technicians, and maintenance teams, ensuring they are well-briefed and effectively managed.
7. Maintain the venue and studios to a high standard, ensuring cleanliness and organisation across all areas through effective coordination with cleaning staff.
Job Responsibilities
1. Proven experience in overseeing the development of a small arts venue, including shaping organisational policies and fundraising strategies.
2. Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team.
3. Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with clients, sponsors, and stakeholders.
5. A proactive and energetic attitude towards work and community engagement.
6. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and remain self-motivated.
7. Ability to review and reflect on work, continuously seeking to improve delivery, processes, and user experiences.
8. Experience in setting and managing budgets, negotiating contracts, and achieving financial targets.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations such as events.
10. Effective time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
