**This role is based in East Croydon which is a 12 minute train from London Bridge or a 15 minute train from Victoria**
**This role is fully office based**
We are looking for an operational powerhouse to join this newly established CEO’s office as Chief of Staff for the Pension Protection Fund. As Chief of Staff you’ll be a pivotal part of the cohesion of the leadership team to drive commercial success as well as being totally essential to the daily running of the business. You will be reporting directly to the CEO and managing key stakeholder relationships that also include liaison with government officials. Additionally, you will be in line manage a small team based in the CEO’s office. This is a dynamic leadership role that will allow you to really make an impact.
While each day is different, duties will include;
* Operate as a trusted advisor and provide critical support the CEO. This includes advising on issues, handling situations on the CEO’s behalf and always demonstrating exemplary judgment and diplomacy.
* Facilitate business between the business and a range of senior stakeholders
* Work closely with policy specialist to ensure key messages and comms are prepared.
* Work closely with the communications team to prepare both internal and external communication on behalf of the CEO
* Attend meetings with the CEO and on their behalf when necessary. This also involves acting as a representative and making decisions on behalf of the CEO.
* Support the CEO to execute their key accountabilities
* Supporting the board and executive committee by ensuring they have the relevant information to make informed decisions.
* Track said decisions and action points in meetings
* Work closely with the CEO to make strategic decisions, plans and performance monitoring
* Take ownership of the daily running of the CEO’s office including managing the office budget
* Act as key liaison between the board support the CEO’s office
We are looking for a candidate that has experience working within the pensions industry; perhaps as another chief of staff, managing director or other operational role.
Person specification:
* Pension industry experience is a non-negotiable
* Proven track record in working with senior executives, C-suite and board executives
* Strong communication skills, expert diplomacy and discretion
* People management skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to translate complex information into meaningful company and management communication
* Excellent written and research skills
* Ability to work under pressure and tight time frames
