The opportunity
As a Commercial Account Handler, you will accurately prepare quotations, renewals, and endorsements. You will also go to market and place both new and existing business within the relevant regulations and company procedures. You will effectively and efficiently administer and service the insurance requirements for potential and existing customers across a wide range of Specialist Commercial Insurance products. Our Account Handlers ensure that a quality service is provided to all clients in accordance with their needs and requirements.
Key duties will include:
1. Ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism when dealing with both clients and insurers in all aspects of the role
2. Managing existing commercial insurance policies including commercial combined, property, liability, and fleet plus others
3. Completing premium financing arrangements
4. Working closely with a dedicated Commercial Account Executive
5. Advising clients on existing products in accordance with their needs
6. Ensuring bad debt queries are dealt with efficiently and in line with company procedure
7. Ensuring all business activity fully complies with FCA regulation and company procedures as detailed in the Conduct Policies
8. Handling any complaints in accordance with regulation and the Company’s Conduct Policy
9. Taking part in tailored learning, training, and assessment courses and identifying further areas for own development as required
10. Achieving and maintaining a high level of customer service and promoting exceptional customer care standards at all times
11. Developing and maintaining a professional working relationship with all clients and providing expert product advice and guidance
What we’re looking for:
Our Account Handlers are vital in ensuring that Butterworth Spengler clients have a professional and compliant experience. To be successful in the role, you must have the following skills:
1. Previous experience gained from working as an Account Handler in a similar broking environment
2. Working knowledge of most commercial lines insurance products
3. Experience of working to high standards and FCA Compliance
4. Strong administration skills, coupled with a very keen eye for detail
5. Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure deadlines are met
6. Numerical accuracy
7. Exemplary communication skills, in person, on the phone, and via email
8. Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
9. IT proficiency with the use of most MS Office products and ideally Acturis
10. Regulatory and compliance awareness
