Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEND Casework Officer to work with our client in the Oxford area. This is to manage and lead on allocated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) cases, particularly within the SENDIST Tribunal process. You will play a vital role in ensuring legal compliance, supporting schools and families, and representing the Local Authority (LA) at various critical meetings and Tribunals. An Enhanced DBS for Children on the Government Update Service is required for this role. This is a remote role, with an option for hotdesking within various offices. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage allocated cases within the SENDIST Tribunal process, ensuring all legal deadlines are met and case preparation aligns with Tribunal rules. Attend and lead Way Forward meetings, Mediation, and Pre-Tribunal sessions as required. Represent the Local Authority at SEND Tribunals when necessary. Provide professional advice, support, and challenge to Headteachers, SENCOs, Governing Bodies, and Academy Trusts to ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Disability Discrimination Act. Collaborate closely with schools and partner agencies to adhere to timelines set out in the SEND Code of Practice. Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including statutory and voluntary sector partners. Attend and contribute to multi-professional planning meetings and child protection case conferences. Stay informed of and act on changes to legislation, policies, procedures, and guidance, ensuring relevant staff are updated accordingly. Deliver training and guidance as needed to ensure widespread understanding and compliance across involved professionals. ADZN1_UKTJ
