PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The purpose of this role is the proactive support and management of Interactive Investor’s Network services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintaining availability service levels through proactive management of network components and rapid response through monitoring and alerts.
2. Management of network services and their capacity through regular housekeeping, monitoring, and forecasting.
3. Providing on-site support and administration of production/test environments for the network infrastructure and applications within the remit of the Network Team. Working within a team rota to ensure on-site cover through supported hours (7.30am-5.00pm Mon-Fri) and out-of-hours support in relation to responding to service, incident, problem and change requests, prioritising work where necessary.
4. Maintaining currency of network components through patching and component lifecycle management. Alongside general ‘housekeeping’ of the technology estate (administration, patching, fix packs, monitoring, backups, etc.) this role will be involved in the development and rollout of new platforms, and improvements to existing ones.
5. Working with 3rd party maintenance and service providers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Working to a Service First Culture ensuring that IT does all it can to positively impact Customer and Employee satisfaction levels.
2. Build and maintain close working relationships with key IT and business partners to ensure a collaborative working environment.
3. To proactively monitor system health in terms of availability, performance, and capacity – early identification and remediation of potential issues and rapid response and remediation of live incidents.
4. Follow Incident Management processes including prompt escalation of faults and incidents.
5. To plan and implement changes according to Service Management and Change Management processes.
6. Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis and make recommendation to prevent repeating issues.
7. Carry out housekeeping and maintenance activities for supported infrastructure and services – maintaining operational supportability, data security, and data integrity through an active currency project.
8. Create and maintain operating documentation.
9. Understand and work to IT Service Levels.
10. Script and automate processes wherever possible – avoiding manual processes and helping to reduce costs.
11. Provide support and assistance to business and IT change projects – managing and prioritising own workload of service tickets and project tasks with support of Team Lead.
COMPETENCIES:

3. Extensive experience administering and supporting specific network technologies (including build, configuration, maintenance and administration).

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
Essential:
1. Palo Alto firewalls including Panorama (strong technical abilities and understanding with a minimum of 2 years experience of delivery and support).
2. Cisco/Nexus switch and routers (strong technical abilities and understanding with a minimum of 2 years experience of delivery and support).
3. Strong knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols (both configuration and support).
4. Administration and management of Juniper switches and access points (including Mist/Marvis).
5. IP Access Control Lists and VLAN management.
6. IPSEC and VPN management and configuration.
7. Configuration and administration of network load balancers (F5/NSX Advanced Load Balancers).
8. Experience of managing a corporate/Guest WiFi Infrastructure.
Preferred:
1. Experience around VMware NSX-T preferable.
2. Certificate management and renewal across differing systems.
3. 802.1x authentication using HPE ClearPass/Opswat.
4. Experience with AWS integration and administration would be advantageous.
5. Datacenter migration experience would be advantageous.
6. VXLAN implementation would be advantageous.
