Job Title: Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance Engineer Location: London, UK Job Type: Full-time Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of air conditioning systems in both commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance: Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on air conditioning systems including split, ducted, and VRF systems in various commercial and residential environments. Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems, ensuring effective solutions and minimal downtime. Scheduled Servicing: Conduct regular servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and comply with industry standards and regulations. Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with clients, offering advice on system performance, troubleshooting, and recommendations for improvement. System Testing: Perform routine checks and testing of equipment, including refrigerant charging, electrical checks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Documentation & Reporting: Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with current health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of refrigerants and disposal of materials. On-Call Support: Provide on-call support for emergency repairs as required, ensuring a quick response to urgent service needs. Skills & Qualifications: Hands-on experience in air conditioning servicing and maintenance, with a proven track record of working on a range of systems (split, ducted, VRF). Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of air conditioning principles, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, and the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals. Certifications: • F-Gas Certification (or equivalent) for handling refrigerants. • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent). • City & Guilds 2079 or similar qualification. Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence (for travel to various client locations). Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to clients in a clear and professional manner. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions. Team Player: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Qualifications: • Advanced AC systems knowledge: Familiarity with modern air conditioning systems such as VRF/VRV, inverter systems, and BMS (Building Management Systems). • Knowledge of London-based regulations: Familiarity with London-specific building codes and environmental regulations related to HVAC systems.
