Freeport East Skills Advisor
Within the range of £29,427 to £31,386 per annum
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Fixed term post until 31st March 2026
This is an exciting and diverse brand-new project role for the right person, working with the College and our five partners in the Freeport East Skills Escalator project to promote skills, careers and innovation opportunities linked to Freeport East and its priority sectors. You will be joining a dynamic, growing Directorate within our thriving College, and work closely with a wide range of great partners and stakeholders. We are a friendly team, keen to support you to flourish in your role.
As our Freeport East Skills Advisor your key tasks will be to –
• coordinate the effective development and delivery of a programme of Freeport East Skills Escalator Roadshow events and a Conference, working with employers, project partners, Freeport East, schools, colleges and universities.
• Work with project partners and others to develop closer links with key Freeport East employers, delivering a range of employer networking meetings and activities.
• Coordinate the development of a suite of careers materials, videos and other content to be used by the partnership and shared from the Freeport East website.
• Work with other partners in the project to support the delivery of their project activities.
The Freeport East Skills Escalator project is funded by the Freeport East Skills and Innovation Fund to April 2026. The project partners are Suffolk New College (lead partner), Colchester Institute, University of Suffolk, University of Essex, East Coast College and West Suffolk College.
The ideal candidate will be confident in engaging with employers, students and other potential employees and have strong communication skills. You must also be highly organised, a good team player, and have an engaging professional manner with stakeholders.
This post is based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich Campus; however, Suffolk New College is a multi-campus college, and you will be required to work at and travel between campuses. There will also be a busy programme of events to attend across the partners and the Freeport East area.

Due to the nature of this role access to personal transport is essential. If using your own vehicle, it is a requirement for your car insurance to cover business use and evidence of this will be requested by finance before any travel claims are paid.
