Job Summary:
Responsible for determining and implementing best manufacturing practices for current and future production related to set-up, start-up, processing, and maintenance of injection molding machines to satisfactorily accomplish quality and on-time delivered products to customers. Adheres to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May act as back-up Supervisor or Team Lead as Required and Directed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Maintenance of injection molding machines to satisfactorily accomplish quality and on-time delivered products to customers.
* Complete set-up and start-up of injected molding machines.
* Applies injection molding principles and molding theories to troubleshoot and process molding operations.
* Performs mold changes on injection machines.
* Works with Material Handlers and Machine Operators to ensure raw materials within the work cell are readily available.
* Monitors machine operation for compliance with all ISO, health, safety, quality, and efficiency standards; analyzes and leads continuous improvements.
* Works with production management to review and organize production activities.
* Collaborates with Tool Room, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment and quality problems within the molding cell.
* Evaluates scrap reduction techniques within the work cell.
* Monitors and documents daily process conditions; logs changes and drafts detailed mold repair work information form sheets.
* Ensures safety, cleanliness, and organization of work area.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical mindset, reasoning abilities, and problem-solving skills.
* Good training and leadership skills; team-oriented.
* Ability to train all new Process Techs without assistance.
* Ability to perform all assigned TPMs, mold clearing, and complete all paperwork.
* Ability to take direction and escalate problems in a timely manner.
* Ability to follow a schedule and adhere to safety as well as quality standards.
* Ability to use mold heaters/DME units.
* Technical knowledge of thermolators and watering on molds.
* Knowledge and understanding of robot and EOAT starts and stops.
* Completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Paulson Training.
* Successful completion of “Technology of Injection Molding – Level 3 Module with Skill Builder Simulation” Paulson Training.
* Successful completion of “Implementing Decoupled Molding” Paulson Training.
* Successful completion of Forklift certification.
* Successful completion of LOTO training.
* Highly motivated.
* Proficiency in Scientific or Decoupled Molding.
* Forklift certification required (or ability to attain certification upon employment).
* Computer proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word.
* Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
* Ability to work overtime as required.
* Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* 4+ years of Injection Molding experience required; strong molding and processing skills.
* Previous experience in Mold Setter II role (or combination with external experience).
* Experience with injection molding machines, including setting up and a fundamental understanding of processing to include: water, material, tool understanding (cores, hot tips, and hydraulic cores, etc.).
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to stand for the entire shift (8+ hrs.).
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Requires manual dexterity.
* Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment.
* Frequently moves from waist level to floor level.
Shift: 11:15 pm - 8 am - 3rd Shift
