The Research and Innovation Department is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced Senior Research Nurse to join our expanding research team. Based at The Leeds Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Centre, Seacroft Hospital (working cross-site as needed), this full-time, 4-year fixed-term post involves working with MND clinicians, nurse specialists, and external partners to build and deliver a research portfolio for MND patients. Key responsibilities include: coordinating and delivering commercial and non-commercial trials within the Neurosciences extensive research portfolio, establishing a dedicated research delivery team, and developing a portfolio of clinical trials accessible to MND patients. The post holder will support care delivery both in hospital and at home, promoting a culture of inclusive research. Ensuring high standards of care, patient satisfaction and safety, compliance with Trust policy, protocols, local/national guidance and legislation is essential. Main duties of the job We are looking to recruit a proactive and self-motivated senior research nurse with a keen interest in research to work within The MND Centre. The postholder will have advanced knowledge of research delivery to ensure that appropriate quality, financial and clinical governance is embedded and to play a key role in the development, management and implementation of our research delivery objectives. The postholder will be required to become an integrated member of the Leeds MND Team, acting as an ambassador for promoting research and best practice ensuring the best possible care for their patients attending clinics in hospital and community. The successful candidate will have a background in clinical research delivery. Experience in the field of neurology, ideally Motor Neurone Disease, is highly desirable. The postholder will be responsible for establishing dedicated research nurse led clinics to deliver the portfolio of studies, overseeing the staffing requirements for this, ensuring the research workforce is competent and has capacity to deliver a portfolio of both commercial and non-commercial research. The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
