Job Title: Principal FPGA Engineer

The Role
The Principal FPGA Engineer will play a leading role in the Cyber Unit's Firmware team, focusing on R&D and production programmes. They will design, architect and test FPGA firmware, review and sign-off work, contribute to development process improvements and ensure standards are met.
This role involves undertaking technical management of assigned projects, providing guidance to junior engineers and contributing to the ongoing improvement of development processes.
Requirements
This position requires an experienced engineer proficient in firmware development across the engineering lifecycle, with expertise in designing for synchronous and asynchronous systems.
Experience with Lattice, Xilinx, Altera or Microsemi FPGAs and industry-standard communication protocols is essential. Experience in developing military equipment is beneficial but not necessary.
Security Clearance
The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance is required for this position. A bonus of £5,000 will be paid annually once this clearance is attained or transferred.
Location
This role will be based full-time on-site in the Maidenhead area due to the classification of the work.
Onsite parking and an early finish on Fridays are available.
Salary
